Thesis: Examining the determinants of child food literacy by applying a food systems-based approach.

I am registered dietitian with more than 14 years of experience studying the link between low glycemic index diet and management of type 2 diabetes as well as cardiovascular disease. I have now transitioned into the realm of child food literacy and my current research interests lie in examining the determinants of child food literacy and children’s diet quality with a food systems and implementation science focus. My aim is to inform policies and lessen the burden of chronic diseases among families and children by improving food literacy and translating research findings into practice.
