Thesis: I’m currently working on a clinical trial with individuals with type 2 diabetes. We are looking at the role of DHA- and lutein-enriched eggs on vision in hopes of preventing diabetic retinopathy.

Research Interests and Future Goals: Attending the implementation science summer school has broadened my research interests! I’m particularly interested in how implementation science can improve the acquisition of quantitative research results to stakeholders and government. When it comes to my own clinical work, I am especially interested in how research outcomes affect everyday individuals. An example of this is the clear implementation gap that exists between bench to bedside. It is exactly these types of issues that I hope to work towards solving after obtaining my master’s degree.

In addition to my thesis research, I am involved in a community-based participatory research study in Manitoba. The study is exploring access to traditional foods and activities and how these foods and activities relate to gestational diabetes in urban-living Indigenous women.

Fun fact about you: I was born in Paris!
