The SMART Training Platform & the Guelph Family Health Study Team are excited to announce a distinguished speaker presentation. We welcome Dr. Haejoo Chung from Korea University to talk about designing smart, healthy cities.

About the talk:

The presentation outlines a framework for Smart Healthy Cities (SHCs) that integrates traditional urban health approaches with smart technology across four key dimensions: Smart Networking, Healthy Environment, Socially Sustainable, and Health Empowering Cities. Based on concept analysis and mapping research, the framework emphasizes collaborative governance, adaptive infrastructure, and person-centered services while balancing technological innovation with social sustainability and health equity.

About Dr. Haejoo Chung
Professor, Health and Social Policy, Korea University

Dr. Haejoo Chung is a Professor in Health and Social Policy, Director of BK21FOUR R&E Center for Learning Health Systems and Vice-Director of Institute of Sustainable Development at Korea University.

Dr. Haejoo Chung earned her PhD in Health and Social Policy from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She was a CIHR IHSPR Post-Doctoral Trainee at University of Toronto. Her research focuses on health and social policies’ impact on health inequity and on strategies for innovating community care policies. Her recent research focuses on designing Smart Healthy Cities, integrating population-level healthy cities strategies with smart technologies, while supporting a health and social care economy that supports care workers and care recipients.
