Dr. Patricia O’Campo
Professor, Dalla Lana School of Public Health; Chair in Intersectoral Solutions for Urban Health Problems, St Michaels Hostpial
Dr. Patricia O’Campo is a leading social epidemiologist whose early research on the health impacts of city neighbourhoods helped shape the field. A MAP scientist and St. Michael’s Hospital Chair in Intersectoral Solutions for Urban Health Problems, she is also a professor at the University of Toronto’s Dalla Lana School of Public Health and an adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. O’Campo has secured over $85 million in research funding as principal or co-investigator to advance studies on mental health, intimate-partner violence, children’s wellbeing, HIV and infant-mortality prevention, and homelessness. Recognized with career-excellence awards from the US CDC, American Academy of Pediatrics, American Public Health Association, and the US Institute of Medicine, she continues to champion evidence-based policies and programs to eliminate urban health inequities.
