About the Session

This session explores how implementation science can drive systemic and sustainable solutions to advance equity in urban health. Drawing on decades of research and practice, Dr. Patricia O’Campo will discuss real-world strategies for addressing the root causes of health inequities through intersectoral collaboration, evidence-informed policymaking, and community engagement. Participants will gain insight into frameworks and tools that bridge research and practice to create lasting, equitable change in cities.

Dr. Patricia O’Campo

Professor, Dalla Lana School of Public Health; Chair in Intersectoral Solutions for Urban Health Problems, St Michaels Hospital

Dr. O’Campo is an international leader in Social Epidemiology and is a Scientist and Professor at the Centre for Urban Health Solutions and the University of Toronto Dalla Lana School of Public Health. Dr. O’Campo’s research on health inequity focuses on upstream determinants of health and specializes in quantifying the impacts of structural issues and social programs, with an eye toward concrete, multilevel solutions. Through her scholarship and dedicated partnerships with affected communities over the past 30 years, she has generated strong evidence around interventions to improve the lives of those living with multiple health, social and economic challenges..
